Win-Win Situation
Thursday, August 2, 2007
Dear class, Remember our CME lesson on harmony at home today: WIN-WIN situation. Try applying it, the following is what we've discussed in class today. YOUR CHOICES: 1. YOU WIN/THEY WIN: Win-win relationships see life as a cooperation. Both parties seek best possible solutions where both can benefit. Both parties may need to compromise but both can be relatively happy. Remember: You need to negotiate, and earn the trust. 2. YOU WIN/THEY LOSE: Based on the idea that "I get my way, you don't get yours." It is about competition and about one party winning and the other party - the loser - not getting heard or being ignored. 3. YOU LOSE/THEY WIN: This involve putting yourself down on others so that you become the victom. You let the problem go unsolved, and do not do anything about it though it is clearly affecting you. 4. YOU LOSE/THEY LOSE: It has the idea, "If I can't have it, you can't have it either." It is about getting your revenge. Some people become so focused on getting their revenge that they take themselves down as well. Are you a win-win person? You will be a parent one day, and your child will do exactly what you are doing to your parents now. What will you do? Your FT.
